Blogs

Well, on November 15th we had the program.  Darlene Fichter gave an overview of new technologies in libraries.  On the blog, she spoke about how the most important thing we can do as a blogger and blog reader is to comment.  Comments encourage the blogger, and also lets them know that someone is indeed out there.

I have to admit that I spend weeks wondering if anyone ever actually makes it here.  Part of me is like, “Well, it’s kind of a journal, more for you than for anyone else”, but then I think “well, if it’s really a journal, do I want these people reading this?  lol

I came to the conclusion that this is a blog.  It’s for people to read, and it doesn’t matter whether or not I know who makes it here, but I would still like to know.  I’m trying to comment more on other people’s blogs, even if it’s just some silly, mindless comment, and am hoping that maybe others will follow…

I also want to find a some kind of plug in that will let me know how many hits my blogs receive.

Dinner

We went to the Traveler’s Cub for dinner last night. To my delight, everyone seemed to really like it! We all had a good time talking shop, sharing tattoos and basically just having a nice time. The large selection of wonderful beers (which unfortunately I did not sample) helped the evening along. Here are a few pics:

OMG, what an awesome program we had today! More later (if I remember, of course!), I’m off to take the speakers out to dinner.

Just a little reflection. You know how you read the blog of someone you never met, and you get an idea of what they’re like…you almost invent a person that is all way super cool, and then you meet them and it’s a complete let down?

THAT DIDN’T HAPPEN! All four of the speakers were as wonderful as I expected them to be, and some were even nicer! What an amazing group we had!

Okay, off to dinner. Pics to come.
